The Hammock

Once associated with camping in a tropical climate and the need to sleep off the ground out of reach of dangerous snakes and spiders, hammocks are becoming increasingly popular as an alternative to traditional beds and it’s easy to see why.

Hammocks are incredibly space saving as they take up very little floor space and can simply be dismantled and put away when not in use. They’re also hygienic as they are easy to clean and don’t attract the dust and dirt associated with mattresses. Just think, with a hammock you would never have to change the sheets or make the bed up again!

Anecdotal evidence suggests that hammocks are good for alleviating back pain and the gentle swing of the hammock is thought to lead to a deeper and more restorative sleep.

The only problem is that a hammock is generally best for one person to sleep in so unsuitable for use as a double bed, unless you have an extra large hammock.
