The Bunk Bed

Bunk beds are a traditional space saving solution consisting of two beds on top of each other, with a ladder to climb to the top bunk. They have been invaluable to families who are short of space for many years as allow siblings to share without compromising on the space needed for an additional bed.

However, bunk beds are now available in a range of designs and functions, such a desk, bookshelf and drawers in place of the lower bed - and a double sofa bed is another option for the bottom bunk. These variations are sometimes known as cabin beds, loft beds or high sleepers.

One word of caution; bunk beds can be dangerous for very young children so always ensure that there are appropriate safety guards if necessary and discourage any jumping on the top bunk, especially if someone is underneath!
